Welcome to the Wild Coast

We are located in the Maremma region of Southern Tuscany, where the rolling Tuscan hills meet the Tyrrhenian Sea. Our "campus" is 23 hectares farm with open fields, vineyards and a small forest. It’s a place where history meets nature, just 20 minutes from the seaside and 25 minutes from the the medieval city of Grosseto.

A Refuge for Nature (and You)

We are located on a farm property 2km from the village of Caldana, a medieval hamlet perched on a hill that looks like it was frozen in time. This is the heart of slow living. The farm offers nine 70 sqm -2 bedroom -1 bath newly refurbished apartments, with a full working kitchen. Alternatively, you can rent a villa nearby and join our community during the day.

Included in the property are ample communal spaces, where we can cook and eat together, a co-working space, a private pool and the education center.

This isn't a tourist trap; it’s a working agricultural and wine making region. Our community life revolves around the seasons:

  • Harvests: Depending on the cohort, you might find yourself helping with the olive harvest or learning about wine-making, making home made pasta with local cooks or Ricotta cheese with local farmers

  • Exploration: Spend your weekends boat-tripping around the Maremma National Park, exploring the vineyards of Montalcino, Biking or Horseriding in the idyllic Tuscan countryside, or soaking in the thermal baths of Saturnia

  • Community: On the farm, we value our community life and organize community meals several times a week. Outside of Earthbound, the local community is rich with festivals, town fairs and events

Hidden, Yet Connected

You might feel like you’ve stumbled into a secret world, but Earthbound is surprisingly easy to reach. We are nestled right on the sun-drenched region of Maremma, in southern Tuscany. While the estate feels worlds away from traffic and noise, we are strategically located just over two hours from Rome, two hours from Florence and less than 90 minutes from Pisa. Nearby Grosseto offers all the city fixes you need, while famed Castiglione della Pescaia, a beautiful town on the Mediterranean sea, is just 20 minutes away, as are the idyllic beach of Cala Violina or the sailing hubs of Follonica and Punta Ala. It’s the ultimate sweet spot: wild enough to truly disconnect, but connected enough to make your arrival a breeze
